Inner Sanctum Mysteries: The Man From Yesterday

The Man From Yesterday is an original radio drama starring Ann Seymour and Myron McCormick. McCormick plays Dr Robert Rant and Seymour plays his wife Ruth. The story is set in the jungle, where it is still and hot and weirdly yellow in the strange light of the tropic moon and Dr Rant’s museum party is daring enough to capture a giant gorilla.

Rant decides to take the gorilla back to the museum with them, where Professor Convers will be most appreciative of such a fine specimen, and so the ape finds itself removed from the jungle and placed in the hold of a ship headed for New York.

However, there is a lot more to this story than just the kidnapping a giant primate. The ape in question seems to recognize Dr Rant right from the start. It behaves as if it knows him from somewhere and Rant does not like the way it looks at him and feels uncomfortable whenever he is around it. Ruth, on the other hand, has no such reservations about their hairy new friend and she is quite happy to spend time with it. She even teaches it to shake her hand. Dr Rant is shocked when he discovers this and he tells Ruth that the ape cannot be trusted. It is a wild animal and dangerous—a killer. Ruth thinks that this is ridiculous. Ruth is wrong.
