Published Work The following is not a complete list of my publishing credits. Other things have been written. Other things have been published. This list catalogues only works of fiction. Most of which I would class as being either horror stories, spooky stories, or just down - right weird stories. Stories with an element of fear are also included, as are twist-in-the-tale-type stories.
Petey's Christmas Petey's Christmas is in issue 60 of Hub Magazine and can be downloaded by clicking HERE
The Survivor The Survivor is included in the Summer 2008 issue of The Rose & Thorn Literary E-zine and can be read online by clicking HERE
The Living Proof Cassie is strapped to a gurney and she can't get free. "It's a waste of time, dear," the man in the white coat assures her and he's right, but Cassie is only twenty-six and she doesn't want to die. The Living Proof is included in issue three of Necrotic Tissue (July 2008) and can be downloaded free of charge from their site, although you might have to register first.
Hormones More humour than horror I'm afraid. Hormones is included in the online anthology I Am This Meat (published November 07). The anthology can be downloaded as a PDF file from the I Am This Meat home page Or, alternatively, you can read my story online by clicking HERE
The Tumi For those of you who don't know, a tumi is an Incan sacrificial knife. The Incans used tumis for cutting people's hearts out with, before offering them, still beating, as a sacrifice to the sun. That should give you a good idea about the story. No happy endings in this one I am afraid. The Tumi was included in issue 17 of Chillout (Winter 2006) and won the reader's vote for best story.
Spot Me Like Hormones, this story is more humour than horror. Spot Me was included in Scriptor 6 (Oct 2006).
The Cure The Cure was accepted by Whispers of Wickedness (Oct 2005). It's still on their site and if you want to you can read it by CLICKing HERE
Uncle John This story was included in the first - and only - issue of Dark of Night magazine (Sep-Oct 2005).
Stalker Stalker appeared in Best (issue 33/05 -- 23rd Aug 2005). This was the first time that any of my work appeared in national publication. Bearing in mind that best is a women's magazine, and not a horror market, there is nothing too harsh in this story. Suspense and fear, yes, and a good twist at the end.
Sloan Sloan was included in the Winter 2005 issue of Lookout. It's a story about a dying writer who attempts to beat death.
No More Pain Not a horror story, but perhaps one that makes the reader a little apprehensive about what fate awaits the central character. No More Pain was published issue 312 of Cauldron (formerly known as The New Cauldron) November 2005.
Danny And The Ghost What's it about? Danny and a ghost, of course, but I suppose that you guessed that already. This is the only children's story that I have written, to this date. This is another one that isn't exactly over-the-top and horrific. Still, I quite enjoyed writing it. Danny and the Ghost appeared on the Gorlan Website (Feb 2005).
Sleepy This story is a little unusual and hard to categorise. Mild, psychological horror would be my closest attempt. I entered Sleepy into a quarterly competition run by, UK small press magazine, The New Cauldron. It won and they printed the story in the magazine (issue 308 Oct/Nov 2004).
The Black Triumph This was my first attempt at writing fiction. I wrote it, went through it and edited it again and again. Once I was happy with it I submitted it to a magazine. When it came back, rejected, I went through it again. I'd had a little more practice by then and I found many things that I was not happy with. So I edited it, again, and sent it to a different market. This whole process was repeated more than once. Each time it returned I tried to improve on it. Finally, I entered it into The Lookout/Chillout Short Story competition 2003/04. There were somewhere between 3-4000 entries that year. The Black Triumph secured 9th place and was listed in the section: Very Highly Commended. The story was going to be printed in an anthology containing the best 100 entries from that year, but the magazine have had a lot of problems (caused by third parties and in no way of their own making) and so they decided (in late 2007) to scrap the idea.
Accepted, but waiting to see print
