Abraham Stoker

Although Bram Stoker wrote several novels and quite a few short stories
his novel Dracula
is the work for which he is best remembered.
Dracula
was first published in 1897 by Archibald
Constable and
Company and you might be
surprised to learn that the book was not an immediate bestseller even
though many reviewers of the time were full of praise for the work.
Stoker's novel may not have been an instant success with Victorian
readers, but it has never been out of print and has spawned countless
movie and audio interpretations. These days few people would deny that Dracula
is one of the greatest works of gothic horror ever written and the name
Count Dracula is known all over the world.
