Charles DickensWhen he was just twelve-years-old Charles Dickens was removed from school and sent to work at Warrens Blacking Warehouse, where he pasted labels onto tins of shoe polish.

Three years later Dickens returned to school, but he never forgot the miserable times he had had at Warrens and later incorporated some of these memories into David Copperfield and Great Expectations.

Charles Dickens began his literary career as a journalist, then in 1836 his novel The Pickwick Papers was serialized and he quickly became the most popular novelist of the Victorian era.

About a Christmas Carol

A Christmas Carol was first published by Chapman & Hall on 17th December 1843. It remains to this day one of the most popular Christmas Ghost Stories of all time and his been the inspiration for countless movies, TV adaptations, and stage plays.
