Britannia Magazine

Britannia magazine: front cover (1 March 1929)

Britannia was a weekly men’s magazine that had a short print run throughout 1928. It was one of several magazines owned by The Illustrated London News.

The Illustrated London News also produced a women’s magazine, called EVE: The Lady’s Pictorial, which was established in 1926. On May 1st 1929, The Illustrated London News merged the two publications and began distributing them as Britannia and Eve, a monthly magazine aimed at both sexes. Often containing 100 pages or more, Britannia and Eve was somewhat beefier than many other magazines produced at the time.
