2,000 Pages and Counting!

Just under a year ago I published a blog post to commemorate adding the 1,500th page to this site. At the time, I was hoping to reach 2,000 pages before the end of this year. It hasn’t taken me that long. I added the 2,000th page today.

The truth is 2,000 pages is not that many. A lot of websites and blogs are far more content rich than A Passion for Horror. However, it takes me a long time to write original content, and before I add public domain texts to the site I read and edit them. Some stories are quite lengthy, and the site also contains several online books, including Varney the Vampyre—a book that consists of 234 chapters! It took 11 months to get all the pages on the site. That’s a long time, but I was reading and adding shorter stories to the site as well, along with supplementary pages, blog posts, and film reviews. The 2,000th page is a gruesome tale of revenge called “His Unconquerable Enemy.” It’s quite short, but it took me 30 minutes to read it, and as long again to add it to the site.

I realize that this blog post is unlikely to interest many—if any—visitors to the site. I am not anticipating anyone giving me a  virtual pat on the back, but posts like this help me keep track of site growth and how productive I’ve been.

I have no idea how long it will be before A Passion for Horror has 2,500 pages online, but I’m hoping it will be sometime before the end of next year.
